This commission has both statute and code authority (Code Section 2-276, et seq and MCL Section 117.5(c) et seq). Its job is to meet and consider the Mayor and Councilpersons compensation. They meet in the odd numbered years and report their recommendations to the Council. They are five in number and serve for five-year terms. The commission members must be registered electors of the City. No member of Council or employee of the City, nor any relative may serve on the commission. |
