Lt. Larry Weeks Lt. Weeks and Canine Est have been teamed up since November of 1995. K-9 Est retired in the Spring of 2001 and now lives with Lt. Weeks as his family pet. During their tour of duty, they were responsible for seizing over $35,000 in drugs, cash, and cars used in drug trafficking. They also made over a dozen captures ranging from domestic violence suspects to armed robbers. Est was born in the former Republic of Czechoslovakia in January of 1993, and he began his training shortly after. In February of 1994 Lt. Larry Weeks was hired by Albion Public Safety. He was selected in November of 1995 as a K-9 handler and was sent to Castle's K-9 in Mechanicsburg, PA for training. It was there Lt. Weeks and Est were introduced, and they graduated the program after completing three weeks of intensive training. Est was classified as a dual purpose canine. He was certified in narcotic detection, tracking, area and building searches, aggression control, handler protection and agility. Lt Weeks resigned from ADPS in 2002 and is currently the Chief of Police in Morenci, Michigan.
